Ecoworks were keen to make use of their (self-build) straw bale building more during the winter months once the sun sets. A solar powered off-grid LED lighting system, with battery storage was the solution. Their new lighting has enabled them to offer evening sessions to their participants, which have included evening jam making sessions!

We’ve had one winter with our solar powered lights, and they have made a huge difference. We’ve spent more time in the kitchen, producing more jams and jellies. More importantly, our regular sessions are no longer restricted by the dark in winter. We also really like talking to our participants about the lights and the technology behind them - because it is such a simple system, it makes renewable technology more real and easy to understand, and they can see the benefits for themselves.
