The provision of significant local community benefits is central to our vision. We will recycle 100% of surplus profits into local communities in Nottinghamshire through a community fund. We estimate that the Langar Lane Solar Farm will provide at least £10k per annum during the early years. This amount will increase in the later stages of the project.
Acceptance of this amount will be subject to a members’ vote at NCE’s AGM. The monies will then be donated to the community fund and will be allocated to projects brought forward by communities across Nottinghamshire.
The criteria for eligible projects supported through the community fund include renewable energy generation, wildlife conservation, climate change mitigation, other carbon reduction (including local food, transport, waste projects etc) and reduction of fuel poverty, however preference will be given to projects that make a measurable contribution to reducing carbon emissions.
